What are the benefits of working for Watts?

Salaries and Bonuses

We recently engaged consultants to undertake an independent audit of our salaries – and were delighted to be told that we pay above the market rate.

Each member of staff is given a salary review once a year. Any increases take into account individual performance as well as factors such as market trends and the cost of living.

Bonuses are discretionary, but we are working hard to ensure that our employees understand how bonuses are calculated and distributed.

We have recently appointed a committee to keep abreast of remuneration and benefits to ensure that we continue to offer competitive salaries.

Our other benefits include:

  • A generous car allowance
    This is paid to professional members of staff and levels vary depending upon seniority.
  • Annual Leave
    Watts offer a minimum of 23 days holiday to all UK staff (plus public holidays), Associates start on 25 days and Directors are entitled to 30. Holiday entitlement increases with length of service. Additionally, a discretionary ‘Watts Day’ is given around the festive season to allow people to have a chance to recover from their partying and do a bit of extra shopping!
  • Professional Subscriptions
    Paid at the discretion of the directors.
  • Pension Scheme
    We operate a group personal pension. Further details are available upon request.
  • Health Insurance
    Provided by BUPA on a contributory basis.
  • Sick Pay
    Hopefully you won’t have to use it! We pay 15 full days and 15 half days sick pay for most staff upon successful completion of their probationary period, while Associates and Directors are entitled to 65 days.
  • Childcare Vouchers
    A parent-friendly way to help look after the children of our staff. These are non-taxable and exempt from national insurance contributions.
  • Season Ticket Loan
    Available upon the successful completion of the probation period.
  • Subsidised Gym Membership
    It only costs our employees £20 per month to be members of LA Fitness and to be buff and beautiful! Members have access to all facilities and classes and can attend nearly any LA Fitness Gym in the UK.
  • Staff Discounts
    All Watts staff have access to Motivano, a website that offers discounts on virtually everything you can think of.
