Watts was appointed at RIBA Stage A/B as project managers, employer’s agent and contract administrators for the refurbishment of 16 – 18 New Bridge Street site in central London. The refurbishment involves extending the forth and fifth floors and adding a sixth floor to the existing 1,700sq m building. The core areas of the building are also undergoing extensive reconfiguration which will create new reception areas, double lift core and toilet facilities. The office floors will have new metalpan ceiling tiles and medium grade raised floor. All the windows will be replaced as part of the refurbishment.

Watts’ brief was the refurbishment of an existing office building within the constraints of a conservation area, rights to light issues and party wall requirements. The scheme will add one full floor and two half floors and reconfigure the core areas to provide 2,200sq m of new office accommodation.
