Watts was instructed to consult with residents and leaseholders of Benhill Estate in order to design and specify a solution for leaking external walkways forming the flat roofs for flats below. Watts suggested a liquid waterproofing system, which reduced installation time on site and tenant disruption and proved to be a successful solution. Watts adopted a partnering philosophy on this project and through open-book accounting with the main contractor, rolled the specification out to the remainder of the estate.
The brief required Watts to provide contract administration and CDM coordinator services in order to take the project through to completion.
Watts considered three alternative options for waterproofing leaking balcony walkways over flats in Sutton. The preferred and most cost effective option involved the design and installation of a one-hour fast-curing liquid waterproofing system.
