Watts was appointed to provide project management services for the internal and external refurbishment of Churchgate House. The property is a seven-storey Grade II Listed office building in Manchester city centre and was constructed in 1870. Works included a new main roof covering, new mansard windows, new roof handrails and complete refurbishment of a vacant office level. The project was delivered on time and within budget.

Watts’ brief was to act as project manager for the refurbishment of external elements and the vacant top floor. The role also included planning supervisor services and liaison with the managing agents.

Due to the building’s listed status, detailed negotiations were necessary with the local planning department and English Heritage.
