Dublin Port - Access Audit

Dublin, Ireland

Client:

Dublin Port Company

Consultant:

Watts Group PLC

Service:

Consultancy

Watts completed an independent accessibility audit of terminals one, two and three of Dublin Port. Two of Watts’ surveyors completed the site surveys within two days, before producing an audit report setting out the client’s requirements under the Disability Act 2005. The report also recommended a number of steps which would enhance accessibility to Dublin Port facilities, indicating approximate costs and highlighting best practice standards that would benefit the client in future years.

As required by the sectoral plan for accessible transport, under the Disability Act 2005, the client was required to improve the accessibility of passenger facilities to Dublin Port. Watts had to review the existing Port arrangements and highlight the necessary measures and costs the client would need to take, to reach acceptable accessibility standards.

Upon review of the audit, the client has instructed Watts to prepare a schedule of works and specification document based on items identified in the report.
