Watts inspected three properties in the Kentish Town area of north London. The first was a 1970s depot, where Watts examined refurbishment and conversion options for a joinery workshop, an office shell and kitchens. The second property was a 1950s annex to a mortuary. Here plans involved the refurbishment of existing office accommodation and the conversion of a former laundry and storage area. The final building inspected was a 1930s office building that required the refurbishment of two floors of existing office accommodation and conversion of an industrial kitchen and sundry rooms.
Watts was instructed by the client to inspect three council properties in north london and to consider the conversion of the existing unused space into open plan office accommodation, suitable for flexible working. Watts produced a feasibility report with recommendations and initial scope of works, with budget cost estimates produced by Watts’ quantity surveyors. The report was based on CAD drawings provided by the client.
