The Oriel Mostyn Gallery is a Victorian listed building in Llandudno town centre. The works to the gallery comprised modernisation of the existing listed areas of the property and providing a new modern and bespoke extension of significant architectural merit in which to house exhibitions and collections. Expansion and refurbishment included the demolition of large areas of the gallery’s existing out buildings to accommodate the enlarged gallery design. Watts acted as party wall surveyor following the service of party wall notices on the client. Watts also presented neighbourly access issues that needed to be agreed prior to the commencement of demolition and construction work.
Watts was appointed by an adjacent owner and landlord of the gallery building. Watts acted as party wall surveyor, undertaking schedules of condition, negotiating and agreeing party wall awards and advising on crane and scaffold access licences.
