Watts was appointed to provide project monitoring services to oversee restoration works to the stone and timber staircase at the prestigious Queens Hotel in Cheltenham. The project involved careful liaison with the hotel's operations team to ensure minimal guest disruption and to complete the works in time for the Cheltenham Race Week. The project also required careful and detailed liaison with the local conservation officer.
Watts’ brief was to repair the damage and wear suffered by the staircase since its original construction, whilst retaining full operation of the hotel facilities.
