Tooting, London, UK

Client:

St.George’s University of London

Consultant:

Watts Group PLC

Service:

Project Management

Project Cost:

£15 Million

The project comprises the demolition of the Antisoma building and the construction of a new education facility of circa 5,574 sq m. The proposed building will provide a mixture of teaching, learning and administrative space arranged on ground and five upper storeys – although the exact spatial requirements are yet to be determined. The new building is to be sustainable – with an ‘Excellent’ BREEAM rating – as well as providing a landmark facility for St. George’s University of London’s medical school.

Watts conducted a feasibility study to establish ‘in principle’ what the local planning authority (LPA) would be likely to permit in terms of redevelopment on the site of the Antisoma Building. A notional client brief to provide circa 5,600 sq m of educational building has formed the basis of the proposals.

Watts Group PLC regularly advises on issues of contractual performance. The process of independent reportage and advice is at the core of Watts Group’s Technical Assurance Commission with OCG Buying Solutions.
