Watts was appointed at RIBA Stage D to take over the project management and contract administration of the redevelopment of West Herts College Hempstead Road site in the centre of Watford. The new 20,000 sq m building will be constructed whilst the existing campus remains operational. Once completed Watts will manage the decant strategy for the move to the new building along with the relocation of staff and equipment from other facilities. On completion of the new build the old building will be demolished. In addition Watts are actively involved in the procurement of funding for the project from the LSC.
Watt’s brief is to project manage the implementation of phase two of the college’s campus rationalisation programme. This programme involves the disposal of two existing campuses to part fund the redevelopment of their main campus in Watford town centre and to create a modern fit for purpose 20,000 sq m teaching facility.
