Watts was commissioned by the client to conduct a pre-acquistion inspection in
order to assist in the purchase of Wick Retail Park. The property is a 7,000 sq
m purpose built terrace of retail units incorporating a combination of ground
and mezzanine floor levels. On completion of the inspection, Watts provided the
client with an executive summary within 48 hours, which included initial advice
allowing the transaction to progress in a proficient manner. The final report
was provided within a further seven days.
Watts’ brief was to inspect all accessible parts of the building and provide a
written detailed report on its form of construction and the condition of the
internal and external fabric. Included in the report were evaluations for
repair work and an assessment of outstanding ‘snagging’ items. At the time of
inspection the property remained within the defects liability period.
