Watts was appointed for an initial period of two years to undertake type 2 asbestos surveys throughout Scotland. Survey work commenced in 2004 and the commission was extended until October 2007. The programme of surveys is not expected to be completed prior to 2009. Watts have six full-time members of staff working on the commission.
VWatts assisted the client in setting up the survey data collection process prior to embarking on the survey programme. It is expected that over 5,000 sites will be surveyed over the five-year programme. The type of properties covered comprise offices, depots, treatment works and pump stations. These are located throughout Scotland including Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles.
