Kings Place is located in Central London on a site bounded by waterways on two sides. The developer, Parabola Land, appointed Dixon Jones and
Arup's as the key designers for the scheme. The building was designed to a high quality and provides a flexible internal space. The building
achieves high environmental credentials, including low carbon dioxide generation compared to a typical office building. The arts and music
facilities include a 425-seat concert hall, a sculpture gallery, an art gallery and rehearsal rooms.
Watts was instructed to undertake an appraisal and provide a detailed report highlighting the risks associated with the project.
Works are due for completion in 2008. Watts report to the bank and assess drawdown applications from the developer on a monthly
basis. Monitoring is intense and involves reviewing expenditure against a complex development budget and loan requirements.
