Watts was appointed to carry out a survey of Perrywood Business Park, a newly constructed light industrial estate. The client planned to let the units following completion of the project. Watts provided due diligence and surveys advice, liased with the client and project managers, and carried out a fire insurance valuation. At the time of inspection the units had not reached practical completion under the terms of the building contract. Watts returned to the site after practical completion to itemise defects and manage the contractors in completing works.
Watts’ brief was to provide a building survey and fire insurance valuation. Further instructions were received to further attend site after practical completion in order to determine defects and to manage the contractor in making these good.
