Primrose Hill is a typical six-storey urban Victorian school. The works consisted of three main areas: external repairs, re-decoration and re-roofing of the main structure; internal refurbishment of several existing classrooms; and conversion of an open-undercroft area into an additional classroom, with WC and storage facilities.By changing a redundant space into an environment to suit flexible client and end-user needs, Watts has created modern classroom facilities.

Watts' brief was to provide architectural design, lead consultancy and planning supervisor services for the repair, refurbishment and part-conversion of the Grade II-listed school. The scheme involved some mechanical and electrical installations, plus structural analysis, as required.


The external appearance of the building was retained to the impeccable standards of its listed status. Brickwork and stonework was repaired, replaced and reformed as necessary, and the roof areas were recovered in their entirety.
