Watts was appointed by the client to act as project manager in the planning and procurement phase of the Railway Square project. The mixed development on the edge of Waterford City Centre comprised 111 apartments, 1,858 sq mof office space, 3,716 sq m of retail space, and an eight screen cinema. All this was situated over a basement, providing space for 250 cars. Stage two of the works was acting as employer’s agent for the client. Works commenced in March 2004 and are due for completion in August 2006.
Watts managed the whole process of development, from site acquisition through to completion. This involved the appointment of the design team, and the transfer of contractor once the contract was let. The brief was extended to include liaison with all of the tenants taking space. Watts oversaw the setting up of the management company once work was completed. |
