Watts was instructed to review the client?s contractor s fit-out proposals and costing information at Small Street. The project fell within the CDM Regulations, and therefore planning supervisor services were required. The client was seeking to market the refurbished offices having just completed a purchase of the property in a vacant and dilapidated state. Watts acted as contract administrator; monitored the works on site; and undertook interim valuations. The works included preparation of contract documents for signature by both parties.
Watts was required to closely monitor the fit out contractor on behalf of the client, and ensure that the quality and cost of works were acceptable. The project was completed under strict time constraints, as the client was not receiving any rental income while the offices were vacant. Watts liaised closely with the clients letting agents to ensure the finished product met the standards of a typical prospective tenant.
