Watts was appointed by the client to complete monitoring works of the USDAW Central Office. The works comprised: the erection of a temporary structure within a car parking area to accommodate the activities of staff members whilst refurbishment works were carried out; the refurbishment of a canteen, kitchen and WC accommodation; the refurbishment of a postal sorting office; a new IT training room extension; minor office alterations; DDA compliant works; and associated repair and refurbishments works within the property.
Watts was appointed as lead design consultant, contract administrator, quantity surveyor and planning supervisor. The works were tendered on the basis of a lump sum adopting the IFC form
of contract and a specification and schedule of works. Careful monitoring of the jobs and changes
to the scope of work ensured the works were completed within the client's budget.
