Jon Evans is a chartered building surveyor and joined Watts in 2003. Based in
the London office, he has acted as lead consultant for a number of
refurbishment projects, providing full project management and contract
administration services on schemes with values ranging from £300,000 to £3
million. With wide-ranging experience of all aspects of commercial building
surveying, across a variety of industry sectors, Jon's role includes:
- providing design options and feasibility studies;
- coordinating and liaising with all members of the design team including
M&E consultants, structural engineer and client's specialist consultants;
- advising clients on procurement routes and appropriate forms of contract;
- preparation of full material and workmanship specifications and drawings
(AutoCAD);
- consulting with English Heritage, statutory bodies and specialist
conservators;
- preparing tender reports / analysis and contract documents; and
- administering the project on site through to completion.
Jon is also experienced in providing strategic asset management advice to
Registered Social Landlords (RSLs), which includes:
- strategic advice on long term maintenance planning and emerging legislation
(Decent Homes);
- development of survey design and methodologies specifically tailored to
client requirements; and
- working directly with IT consultants to develop asset management software.
In addition, Jon has excellent inter-personal skills and has lengthy experience
of dealing direct with clients at all stages of project delivery.
