Philip Lane is an associate building surveyor and joined Watts in September 2007. He is based in the London office, where he is a member of the commercial building surveying team. With more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry, Philip has extensive experience on both commercial and domestic projects and now specialises in neighbourly matters, including party wall matters, access agreements, boundary issues and rights to light.
Philip has practiced as a chartered surveyor in private practice, the insurance industry and the public sector giving him a diverse range of experience. Particular experience includes: building condition and acquisition surveys; advising insurance companies and insurer’s regarding construction related insurance issues; preparation of schedules of dilapidations; advice regarding means of escape and general Building Regulation issues; and assessment of reinstatement valuations.
Philip is an expert in party wall matters on which he regularly lectures and is a member of the Pyramus and Thisbe Club.
Philip takes an active role in the professions governing body being an RICS examiner and sits on Assessment of Practical Competence panels, a member of the RICS Marketing Committee and has written a number of published articles. |
