Richard Samuel graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1993 with a degree in Mathematics,
and subsequently trained as a marketer, completing a Masters in Marketing at Kingston University in
1995. Specialising in Professional Services Marketing, he joined The Royal Institution of Chartered
Surveyors in an executive role in 1996.
Recruited by Watts as Marketing Manager in 1998, Richard's remit grew to head of department, and
then Marketing Partner, taking overall responsibility for supporting management in maintaining a
balance between the demands of the client marketplace and the realities of the practice’s ambitions
and resources.
Richard has since been appointed to the Management Committee of the Watts Group of companies, where
he resides as Director and Head of Corporate Services. In this role, Richard is responsible for the
operational running and management of the practice’s Corporate Services group, which delivers support
services (e.g. Marketing, Personnel, IT, and Facilities Management) to the group.
Richard is based with the Corporate Services group in London, from where he takes a particular
interest in Watts’ marketing, sustainability and management initiatives.
