The Old Admiralty Building (or Admiralty Extension) is a Grade II listed building and provides the backdrop to 'Trooping the Colour' celebrating the Queen's official birthday. Watts carried out defects investigations to gain full understanding of how water penetration throughout the building has arisen. The investigation involved a combination of traditional techniques assisted by hi-tech equipment such as infra-red cameras (thermography) and sub-surface radar, as well as archival research.
Watts was subsequently appointed as lead consultant and CDM coordinator to implement the remedial works.
