Watts was appointed to undertake a full building inspection of Exchange House,
located in the centre of Birmingham. Works comprised a building insurance
valuation and incorporated specialist mechanical and electrical advice. The
grade 1 Listed building was constructed during the late 1890s and still retains
much of the original external structure as well as providing 1,850 sq m of
office space over six floors.
Prior to the potential purchase of the property, Watts was instructed to make a
visual inspection. The report included findings on general features, form of
construction and state of repair. Checks were made for the presence of any
deleterious materials and costing advice was given with regard to repair and
refurbishment work needed over a period of 20 years.
