Watts was appointed to carry out a technical building survey of the Maastricht Exhibition and Conference Centre (MECC) over a period of four weeks. The property comprises a NH-hotel, four exhibition halls, office buildings and parking facilities. Works included the coordination of a project team comprising of M&E consultants, environmental specialists and agents. The project included risk analysis of the technical status of the MECC and compliance of the complex with local rules and European legislation.

Watts’ brief was to inspect the entire building and prepare a building condition report. The report combined the specialist reports from the M&E consultants and environmental specialists. The total area of the buildings inspected was 67,500 sq m.


Watts has worked with the client, a creative, innovative and diverse property Investment Company in Amsterdam, for several years. The client bought the property from Rodamco Europe for €70.6.
