We strive to achieve best practice standards, demonstrated by continually reviewing and developing our Terms and Conditions of employment and associated benefits. As such we have created a comprehensive range of employment policies and practices relevant to the nature of the business and the markets we operate within.
Hours of work
The standard working week for full time employees is 40 hours, Monday to Friday. There are some variations, notably office support staff work a 37.5-hour week and our staff in Paris work 39 hours. Our standard working hours however are 9am to 6pm but staff are expected to be flexible to meet the needs of the business and the requirements of their role.
Probationary period
All new staff are subject to a six-month probationary period during which, performance is reviewed continuously, and necessary training and mentoring provided to ensure the individual has the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfil the requirements of their role.
Salary reviews
Salaries are reviewed annually with changes taking effect from 1st May of each year. Any increases take into account individual performance as well as factors such as market trends and the cost of living. Certain changes may occur part way through the year i.e. passing of professional examinations, or gaining promotion.
Car Allowance
A car allowance is generally offered to all fee earning staff, and is paid monthly in arrears in accordance with the car allowance grading structure. Increases are paid in conjunction with promotions or successful attainment of chartered status. The payment of a car allowance is subject to the employee having a car that is (in the reasonable opinion of the Company), suitable for the purposes of the business of the Company, a valid driving licence being held, and the employee maintaining adequate insurance.
Occupational sick pay
UK staff are provided with occupational sick pay for 15 full days and 15 half days in any 12 month rolling period. Associate This is extended to 65 full days for Associates and Directors. During the probationary period occupational sick pay is not provided – statutory payments still apply.
Code of Ethics
We operate a Code of Ethics, which all staff must understand and abide by at all times.
Flexible Working
Our Flexible working policy aims to provide greater flexibility to those employees balancing work and family commitments. Statutory qualifying rules apply and each application is considered on an individual basis.
Maternity and Paternity leave
For those employees who qualify for maternity or paternity Leave, we offers statutory rates.
Parental leave
Working parents with at least one year’s service are entitled to take up to 13 weeks unpaid leave to care for their child or 18 weeks unpaid leave in the case of a disabled child in accordance with the UK Legislation.
